It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news of my father’s unexpected passing. As some of you know who have had the privilege to work with Pete, he was a genuine, kind man who was a giant in many ways. His nature was to always help someone else, lend encouragement, or share a smile and a laugh. His wisdom has guided me throughout my personal and professional life. He was my ultimate counselor and made a tremendous impact on our company’s growth and development. He lived each minute of life to the fullest—knowing this has given my mother and I comfort in these past days. Pete loved the hair industry. He wasn’t a licensed professional but was its biggest fan. Celebrating others’ success was one of his favorite things…being in the school business was a natural fit. He was especially proud of my mother’s career spanning over the past fifty years.
I’m sending this so you know that a founding member of our company is no longer with us, but his legend and our mission lives on. We are planning a memorial celebration at our home this Friday evening as well as an event in a couple of weeks for students, alumni, staff and friends of L’esprit. In the meantime we will be putting details together on a scholarship fund in his honor. We are also encouraging donations to one of his favorite charities, The Wounded Warrior Project.
Our Best,
Stacy A. Wells, CEO and daughter
Sally A. Wells, Executive Director and wife
